About the Role
This important post is based in the Faculty of Learning. The role is focussed on promoting our engagement with students who have learning needs and their parents/carers, and assisting the evaluation of student progress. This is a term time only position, working 39 weeks per year, and therefore ideal for balancing family responsibilities and childcare.
The SEND Administrator is pivotal to the success of our team. It supports the identification of SEND and the referral process, and the post holder will be the main point of contact for students, staff and external agencies. The role will lead on the organisation of parent events and on implementing strategies for securing parental participation in progress and annual reviews. Responsibilities also include compiling, analysing and monitoring student data, as well as general admin and minute-taking.
It is essential for this role that you have prior experience of the education sector and of working with families with additional needs. Your key attributes will include the ability to work effectively with children at all levels, regardless of specific individual need, and a commitment to safeguard young people. You will have high expectations of students and a respect for their unique social, ethic and cultural backgrounds. Your ability to form and maintain positive professional relationships with parents is vitally important, and will be matched by your confidential handling of complex and sensitive information. Excellent communication, solid team working and accurate data input skills are prime assets for the job. You will also be adept at organising your busy workload and prioritising tasks.
