We are handling a new SEND and SEMH Teacher – KS3/4 vacancy for an outstanding teacher available for a January 2019 start.

This is a long term, SEND and SEMH Teacher – KS3/4 role.

The successful candidate will lead the class and team of Teaching Assistants

Devise and deliver exciting, challenging and appropriate lessons

Attend staff meetings

Take responsibility for student learning and progress

Meet students’ needs – academic, social, emotional and personal development

Focus on engaging and challenging students, leading to progress and achievement

Have high aspirations and standards for themselves and others

The SEND and SEMH Teacher – KS3/4 role is based within KS3 and 4 and involves teaching across the curriculum with a specific emphasis on English. Please get in contact whether you are looking for a part or full time role.

This SEND and SEMH Teacher – KS3/4 may have some flexibility, however Monday- Wednesday are essential within the timetable.

You will work on a temporary basis through Vision for Education and be paid directly by ourselves. This SEND and SEMH Teacher – KS3/4 role could suit a candidate who has completed a long term post and is now available, or a staff member who has relocated, is returning to work or looking for 3 days per week.

Essential criteria are the ability to work with young people who may face significant challenges outside of school, and may have had some difficult experiences within mainstream education. It is also vital that your focus is both on progress and on establishing positive relationships quickly.

The SEND and SEMH Teacher – KS3/4 must be confident to teach more than one subject and to work within a nurture model.  English, however, features strongly within this timetable.  We require a breadth of teaching and behaviour management strategies to be at your disposal, applied within the wider policy of the school.

All applicants will either hold, or need to apply for an Enhanced DBS that will be registered to the update service (we can carry this out). You must hold QTS or equivalent qualification and be able to supply appropriate references.
