Vision for Education are seeking to appoint an experienced and committed HLTA who is enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful.

We are looking for an individual who:

• can support children with a range of needs, including children with attachment needs

• has experience of running and leading SEMH interventions

• is capable of planning a personalised nurture based curriculum for a small group of with support from the school SENDCO.

• Understands the impact of ACEs on a child’s development.

• Is flexible and able to adapt to a variety of different situations.

• is a champion for children’s needs and helps them make the most of everything school has to offer

• maintains a calm and consistent approach to working with the children.

• somebody who is able to communicate well with children, parents, other staff and lead professionals

• shares the school’s caring ethos and vision.

• has a patient, empathetic and conscientious nature and who is committed to providing the best care and support for children

• possesses good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team

• Ability to be proactive

The post will involve:

Carry out interventions with pupils 1:1 and in small groups in addition you will also be required to cover PPA and leadership time with whole class responsibility.

We are looking for someone with:

• The HLTA status or equivalent

• A good understanding of SEND and SEMH needs within a primary school setting

• Experience of teaching large groups of children within KS1 and KS2

• Energy, enthusiasm and a good sense of humour

• The ability to use their initiative and be flexible.

• A desire to ensure better outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

Applicants must have:

• A good standard of general education, to include literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ2 in English and Maths.

• NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant qualification with practical experience of working with children,

or;

• A minimum of previous experience of working with children in an educational context with evidence of relevant training in the appropriate age range or curriculum/learning area.
