Livingstone Academy Bournemouth (LAB) not only provides an excellent education and high academic achievement but goes the extra mile to best prepare our students for an ever-changing world. To achieve this, it is imperative that we build an incredible team who want to challenge themselves to think outside the box, be creative, and work hard to achieve something special.
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide high-quality support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This fixed-term, full-time (term time only) role is vital in ensuring the specific provisions and interventions detailed in a student’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) are fulfilled to promote independence and positive engagement in learning. The successful candidate will work under the direction and leadership of the Assistant Principal of Inclusion, SENDCo, Class Teacher, and Leadership team to produce the best outcomes for individual pupils.
The primary focus of this role is the implementation of tailored support and the robust monitoring of student progress toward their specific EHCP outcomes.
Support for Students with EHCPs: Deliver tailored 1:1 or small group support as outlined in legal requirements, including implementing specific interventions.
Curriculum Adaptation: Foster an inclusive learning environment by adapting and differentiating curriculum materials to meet the specific cognitive, communication, or physical needs of assigned students.
Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of progress and contribute to the Annual Review process by providing feedback and evidence.
Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with external agencies and build professional relationships with parents to support a consistent approach between home and school.
Classroom and School Support: Assist the teacher in managing classroom behavior for students with SEND needs and participate in relevant training to enhance student support.
