SEND Learning Support Assistant

We wish to appoint a LSA to work with children with SEND to support their learning and ongoing personal development. You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with two children (one child in the morning and one child in the afternoon). 

Reports to: SENCo & Class Teacher                                          Hours: 30 hrs per week - a full time post

Pay Grade: Scale 3 (SP5 - £28,545 to SP6 £28,977). Salary will be pro-rota for term time only working @ 85.70% 

We would love to hear from you if you have/are:-

• Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning.
• An ability and confidence to function independently as and when required. 
• Excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills.
• The ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers. 
• Experience of providing personal self-care support to pupils will be an advantage. Please note that providing self-care support is an important expectation of the role. 
• Someone who understands challenging behaviour and has high levels of resilience and a positive attitude    
• Committed to further professional development    

Desirable: 

• Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children on the Autism Spectrum or children with Downs Syndrome, which includes the age group 3 – 11.
