An exciting opportunity to join us as a 1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant at Wheatfield primary School.


Your opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity in our school and we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a 1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring team member to play a key role in supporting a child with communication difficulties on a 1:1 basis. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and the SENDCo.

• A colleague with experience in supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis

• Someone with high expectations who is committed to raising the achievement of all children

• Someone who can think of their feet and adapt strategies in order to make learning opportunities accessible

• The ability to use a variety of strategies to engage and support children in their learning (Makaton is desirable but not essential as we can offer training)

• A collaborative professional with the ability to contribute to provision planning

• An excellent role model to children, colleagues and parents, exemplifying our core principle of kindness

• A positive, open-minded professional actively supportive of the ethos, vision and values of the school

• A member of the team who is able to build strong relationships with the many stakeholders in a school

• A colleague who is flexible, positive and open-minded

The Details

Start date: As soon as possible

Working Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days)

Salary: GLF Associate 2 pay scale Pro Rata: GLF Associate 2 pay scale Pro Rata: £13,979 to £16,387 (depending on experience)
