Salary is dependant on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Team Teach training (Vision can offer free training to qualifying candidates, but this would be ideal). Candidates also need recent, relevant experience working with children or young people who display challenging behaviours or difficulties.

The role for this SEND Support Assistant role:

Our clients require SEND teaching assistants with experience supporting pupils outside of mainstream settings. The successful candidates will be passionate, engaging and enthusiastic with the ability to adapt to new challenges. The pupils you will be support will demonstrate extremely challenging behaviour and social, emotional mental health needs.

The ability to hit the ground running, resilience, empathy and patience will be vital to the role. You will be responsible for working alongside staff to create a sense of order and learning in the classroom. Classroom sizes will range from 6 – 15 pupils to enable more tailored support.

You will be required to support your pupils both in and out of the classroom, providing not only educational but also moral support throughout the day.

Team Teach training will be required - Vision can offer FREE training to successful candidates

Requirements

To be considered for the SEND Support Assistant position, you will:

  • Relevant experience in similar role.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ worth of references.
  • Experience in SEND settings.
  • Positive attitude
  • Own transport desirable but not compulsory .
