Purpose of the Role
To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
About Robin's Nest
We are a small independent school which supports KS2 and KS3 students that may have previously experienced difficulties accessing in their education.
We are committed to ensuring that all students learn and are engaged in the appropriate programme of study, which allows them to successfully re-engage with education and to achieve their very best outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support
Requirements
Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings.
Previous Experience Teaching Maths
QTS/QTLS qualification
Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct.
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

About Robin's Nest School
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Robin's Nest. Our school is a small specialist provision which provides education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who require a smaller, more specialised intervention than can be provided in a mainstream school.
We are committed to each and every one of our pupils, providing specialist support tailored to each individual’s unique needs and helping all pupils achieve their full potential. Children often come to our school with negative perceptions of the education system, having experienced repeated rejection. We are dedicated to turning their experience of learning into a positive one

Aims:
We aim to support our students to become happy, confident, independent adults with a clear moral purpose and the ability to lead a fulfilling life. We wish all of our students to develop a passion for lifelong learning.

At Robin's Nest we work timelessly to support the holistic development of our students, while striving for excellence in academic success. We support students by recognizing strength and personal weaknesses, we then help them by removing barriers so they can then focus and be successful in their chosen path ways. We have a full pronged curriculum that allows our students to choose a wide range of experience preparing them for adult hood.
Students:
The young people that attend Robin's Nest are in KS2 and KS3 raging ages 8-13.
Area of Expertise:
The curriculum is based on the national curriculum and students learning designed by a thematic approach. All students have access to adventures activities which include mountain biking, paddle sports, canoeing, archery, horse riding and climbing.
