About Broadwood School

At Broadwood School, our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. We've cultivated an environment that is not only welcoming and caring but also safe, nurturing, and warm. Every child is supported in a way that encourages both personal and academic growth.

We believe that strong, positive relationships form the foundation of our success. By working closely with our pupils, their parents and carers, as well as the wider community, we create a network of support that helps each pupil thrive.

Broadwood School is a registered independent school providing education to young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, aged 7-18 years.

A message from the Headteacher

On behalf of the pupils and staff I would like to welcome you to Broadwood School. Broadwood is a school where pupils are valued and nurtured to achieve their personal best, regardless of their neurodiverse needs, starting points or previous experiences.  Pupils are supported in becoming confident, resilient, and independent young people, who thrive on challenge, and are motivated to learn.

I am extremely proud to lead a team that is committed to promoting pupil's well-being, achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for all in our care. Staff work hard to deliver a rich and broad and balanced curriculum which addresses gaps in learning and prepares our pupils for their future education by equipping them with the skills and enthusiasm needed to embrace opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. An Enrichment programme alongside access to Peak provides opportunities for our pupils to experience a range of outdoor activities as well as cultural experiences.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, and to a happy and successful partnership with all our pupils and families.

William Monteith, Headteacher
