Vision for Education, the supply arm of TES, and leading education recruitment specialist, is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher on behalf of an SEN School in North Cambridge to teach Maths to pupils with High Functioning Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. The role is based in KS3, KS4 and KS5. 

The Independent Special Needs School is passionate about delivering a broad curriculum, emphasising the holistic development of pupils and supporting the development of life and social skills amongst all of their students. The school has a high staff to student ratio as they are passionate about getting to know all students very well, and providing them with the opportunities to really flourish to the best of their potential. 

This is a temporary position (five days a week) with Vision with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.  The school welcomes applications from experienced and newly-qualified teachers. The role will suit energetic and dedicated professional who is looking to make a difference to the lives of young people with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.  

The ideal candidate must:

Ø Have QTS and be effective in their teaching of Maths

Ø Passionate, creative and self-driven teacher

Ø Have experience of working with children and young people with a range of SEN, particularly Autism (ASD/ASC) and Asperger’s Syndrome. 

Ø Be able to demonstrate high-quality teaching skills

Ø Have excellent interpersonal skills, with a calm yet assertive manner

It is essential that your hold a valid and recognised teaching qualification with at least six weeks recent experience of teaching in the UK. We are also required to contact your past schools for a reference and this position is subject to an Enhanced DBS
