Hexagon Care Services is a forward thinking and privately owned National Provider of Children’s Services. Within the services they offer, they run 6 small independent schools which educate boys and girls between 11 and 18 which cater for pupils with a range of complex needs. All schools are rated either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.

The Birches School is currently situated in Poulton le Fylde and has been registered with the DfE since November 2005.  It is a small independent school that caters for up to 7 boys aged 11 – 16, many of whom have complex needs.   At KS3 the school offers a broad and balanced education in line with the national curriculum. AT KS4 the school offers Functional Skills level 1 and 2 in English, Maths and ICT and accreditation in PSHE.  There is the option to study GCSEs for the more academically able pupils.  All physical education takes place offsite. Attendance at the school is excellent with most boys achieving well over 95%.  There are two qualified teachers and a qualified HLTA. The school was last inspected in October 2016 and was judged good in all areas.  

Due to an expansion of services, The Birches School is moving to larger premises situated in Blackpool from September 2018 and will become a 16 place co-educational school for KS3 and 4 pupils and is therefore looking to appoint a new Teacher of Science of Maths to join their existing staff from September 2018.

You will:

· Have QTS status – qualified to teach KS3/4 Science or Maths

· The ability to teach ICT would be advantageous.

· Hold a full clean driving license

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled and committed teachers who believe in delivering an innovative and creative curriculum to our students. The post would be suitable for experienced teachers as well as NQTs.
