Job overview

As one of our SEND Teachers based at Co-op Academy Southfield (a 11-19 Special School) you'll: 

• plan, implement and deliver an appropriate and differentiated curriculum for all students and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate; 

• be able to demonstrate a successful teaching experience with pupils with a wide range of SEN;

• be able to demonstrate experience of planning and presenting a differentiated curriculum and have experience of and a willingness to train in communication approaches to curriculum access.

About us:

Co-op Academy Southfield is part of The Co-op Academies Trust and are co-located with Co-op Academy Grange, a mainstream secondary Academy in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Co-op Academy Southfield caters for over 300 students and we are one of the largest special schools in the country. We have on-site support from other professionals including Speech and Language Therapists, the School Nursing team, Physiotherapy teams as well as support from Social Care and other services. We enjoy close links with education, leisure, sporting and commercial organisations across the locality and we are keen to actively promote these partnerships for the benefit of the children in our care.

We are Co-op Academy Southfield. Co-op Academy Southfield is a special secondary academy in Bradford, graded as 'good with outstanding features' by Ofsted.

Co-op Academy Southfield provides education for students aged 11 to 19 years with clearly identified special educational needs who have an Education Health and Care Plan.

With 310 students and over 200 staff the school is one of the larger special schools in the country. We have high aspirations for our students which means that we have to have high expectations of all of our staff.  A willingness  to communicate, collaborate and co-operate is essential if we are to get this right for our students and their families.

We are co-located in a purpose-built building with Co-op Academy Grange, a mainstream secondary school. Our sixth form provision is housed across Haycliffe Lane on a smaller site. It offers specialist education and training to provide pathways to our students for life after school.
