Job overview
Black Firs Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspirational SEND Teaching Assistant with vision and energy for a temporary role. The applicant must be able to support a pupil 1:1 with their learning and social needs as part of our well organised team.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the development of pupils; you will be working in the classroom and implementing programmes of support designed to meet their needs. The role is ideal for a new or established colleague who aspires to grow and develop as an outstanding Teaching Assistant.
Our Teaching Assistants work alongside the class teacher and the Intervention Manager to deliver high quality learning experiences, which improve rates of progress for pupils. They also use their initiative and are proactive in supporting individual pupils across the class.
In this exciting role, you will be required to work on a one-to-one basis or provide in-class support to students who have a wide range of learning, medical or behavioural difficulties. Experience working with pupils with autism or speech and language difficulties would be advantageous.
Ideally you will be an experienced TA with knowledge of SEND and supporting pupils with additional needs, but whatever your level of experience please use the supporting statement on the application form to show us how you match the skills we need and what you can bring to the role.
