Job overview

SENDCo

Responsible to: Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher

Salary: CST pay scale plus CST Responsibility allowance R3 (£6,703)

Start date: 1st September 2019

Purpose of the role

Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) is seeking to appoint a SENDCo from 1st September 2019.

This is a unique opportunity to join a team that will create and establish a new school. Whilst our plan is to recruit a full time SENDCo with a teaching timetable attached, we welcome any creative conversations about the implementation of our SENDCo strategy.

We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and ambitious person, with proven leadership skills and vision to take on a vital strategic role.

You will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the SEND department as it develops, and be responsible for planning, implementation and monitoring of SEND provision at Trinity Academy. There may be further opportunities to develop this role across the Cathedral Schools Trust for which Trinity Academy will be the third secondary school. The Trust has been given approval to open a new secondary school in North Bristol starting with Year 7 in 2019. The level of responsibility and salary will be reviewed as the role develops. The successful candidate will have the ability to plan strategically, manage a team of learning support assistants, analyse data and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

If you would like to find out more about the school including FAQs, please visit the website at: www.trinityacademybristol.org.

Please read the attached documents for further details about the role including the job description and person specification.

Please note that we will only consider applications through TES and will not consider CVs so please ensure that your supporting statement on the application meets the requirements of the person specification. We encourage you to be succinct and to restrict your supporting statement to no more than four pages in length.

Closing date: Thursday 28th February 2019

Interview: Friday 8th March 2019

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and the post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
