Eastbury Primary School is a four form entry school in Barking and Dagenham. We are a fully inclusive school with our own Deaf ARP and ISP. Our school is set in a beautiful, modern building with a newly developed outdoor play and reading area. We serve a catchment of wonderful children who have a real enthusiasm for learning.

We would like to appoint a non-classed based SENDCo to support class teachers and pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will be joining an already strong team of professionals to support our children’s learning in our diverse and inclusive school.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Determine the strategic development of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) policy and provision in the school
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provisions to support individual pupils with SEND or a disability
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
  • Be a key point of contact for external agencies
  • Compile evidence and make referrals and applications for education, health and care plans (EHCP)

About Eastbury Primary School

Eastbury Primary School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational primary situated in Barking, Essex. It is sponsored by a multi-academy trust called Partnership Learning, which supports a network of seven schools in East London: three primaries, three secondaries and one special school. Eastbury will provide 944 places for students aged 3-11 when fully subscribed.

Eastbury converted to academy status in April 2016.

It lists its values as respect, teamwork, aiming high, creativity and enjoyment, and promotes these in lessons, play and extracurricular activities, from its Early Years Foundation Stage upwards. Eastbury supports inclusion and diversity, as well as encouraging students to aim high and aspire to improve their learning.

The school provides a range of different extracurricular activities including netball, dance, Arabic language and a debating club for pupils of different years to enjoy.
