The Hammond seeks to appoint a dynamic and inspirational SENDCo. This is an opportunity for an ambitious educator to shape the ongoing success of our exciting and vibrant school and determine the strategic development of special educational needs and disability (SEND) policy and provision in the school. Being responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability. The SENDCo (Senco) role will require to fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher. 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

• Determine the strategic development of special educational needs and disability (SEND) policy and provision in the school.

• Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability. 

• Manage and implement the rigorous monitoring of the progress and attainment outcomes of all students with SEN or a disability. 

• The SENDCO will also be expected to fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher and to be responsible for the strategic development of SEND policy and provision. 

• Be a dynamic and inspirational teacher who is able to engage students in a love of learning, planning and delivering well-structured lessons.
