Job overview

Job overview

We are seeking an empathetic, proactive SENDCo to lead and coordinate SEND provision across Courtwood Primary School. Reporting to the Principal, you will oversee the identification, assessment and monitoring of pupils with SEND, ensuring the right support is in place for every child to progress academically, socially and emotionally.

You will lead provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice, manage SEND Support Plans and EHCPs, and work closely with parents, carers and external professionals. Through coaching and targeted CPD, you will empower teachers and our team of 11 teaching assistants to deliver high-quality adaptive teaching, while contributing to the strategic development of inclusion across the school.

Who are we looking for?

You will be a positive, collaborative individual who is passionate about making a difference to children with SEND. You will hold Qualified Teacher Status and either have the NPQ for SENCOs (or NASENCO) or be willing and eligible to complete it within three years. With strong knowledge of SEND strategies, a thorough understanding of the primary curriculum and excellent communication skills, you will motivate staff, build high-trust relationships with families and colleagues, and uphold a strong commitment to inclusion, pastoral care and safeguarding.
