Job overview
West Park School is a vibrant, inclusive community where every young person is known, supported, and encouraged to be the very best version of themselves. We are proud of our reputation for academic excellence, exceptional pastoral care, and the strong relationships that sit at the heart of our work.
What truly defines us is the West Park family — a community built on trust, belonging, and shared purpose. Our core values of Hard Work, Achievement, Resilience and Kindness guide everything we do. They shape how we treat one another, how we face challenges, and how we celebrate success. We are deeply connected to our local community and work closely with families and partners to ensure every pupil feels supported both in and beyond school.
This is a key leadership role, central to ensuring that pupils with additional needs receive the support, encouragement, and opportunities they deserve. You will bring expertise, warmth, and a genuine belief in the potential of every young person. Your work will help shape the experiences of pupils who rely on us the most — and your impact will be felt across the whole school community.

•Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across West Park School.
•Oversee the identification, assessment, and support of pupils with SEND.
•Line-manage and nurture a skilled team of support staff.
•Work closely with teachers to ensure inclusive, adaptive classroom practice.
•Coordinate EHCP processes, annual reviews, and communication with external agencies.
•Monitor the progress of SEND learners and use data to guide effective intervention.
•Contribute to whole-school CPD and champion inclusive practice.
•Build strong partnerships with families and the wider community, reflecting the values of the West Park family.
•Model and promote Hard Work, Achievement, Resilience and Kindness in every aspect of the role.
