Job Overview
At Primrose Hill, we are looking for a skilled and passionate SENDCO to join our vibrant and inclusive school community. This role is part of our established Inclusion Team, which includes our Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion (also a SENDCO), our Pastoral Lead, and the Lead Teacher for our Autism Resource Provision (ARP).
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with these colleagues to support and champion inclusive practice across the school, rather than being responsible for all aspects of SEND provision alone.
We are looking for:
- An experienced practitioner who instils a love of learning and has high aspirations for children with complex Special Educational Needs requiring a personalised curriculum across the school.
- Someone who may have worked as a SENDCO previously or is ready for a new challenge and willing to work towards the SENDCO qualification.
- A professional who can develop flexible and responsive schemes of learning based on a ‘stage not age’ approach, incorporating early phonics, English, maths, and the wider curriculum.
- A candidate with experience in a special school setting would be of particular interest.
- A pioneer and innovator in inclusive education.
- A reflective, research-informed practitioner who thrives on learning and improving.
- Someone passionate about making a genuine difference in children’s lives.
- A collaborator and team player, ideally with experience of whole-school leadership.

About Primrose Hill Primary School
Primrose Hill is a two form entry Primary School occupying an impressive, listed Victorian building in a beautiful part of London.
The school looks out on to Regent’s Canal and is near to a number of interesting places such as London Zoo, Camden Lock and Regents Park all of which are visited by the children. There are two large playgrounds and
a separate Nursery building with its own enclosed playground.
We have around 482 children on roll in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. There are two parallel classes in each year group, apart from Year 5 where we have 3 classes and the Nursery where there are 39 full time places. Classes are identified by their year number followed by the initial of the teacher’s first name.
We aim to maximise children’s achievement by removing barriers to learning through a varied, creative, inclusive curriculum delivered in a safe, stimulating environment. As a primary school, we believe we have a key role in society in combating discrimination and promoting fairness, justice and equality through our teaching and in the role models we offer.
