The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School is seeking a dynamic and inspirational leader to take the lead of our SEN department. You would be responsible for leading all SEND and EAL activities and ensure they are fully inclusive and accessible to every student.  Our SEN leader must advocate for others to follow the SEN code of practice to ensure that all pupils have EHC plans that reflect their current needs and that the outlined provision is taking place in practice to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to overcome their main barriers to learning.  

You will lead a committed team of teaching assistants in delivering bespoke learning experiences for the SEND students at The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School, many of whom have responsibility for leading classes alongside our part time EAL teacher.  

It is desirable if you are an experienced SENCO with proven leadership and management skills and have the SENCO Award.  

It is important that you are highly organised, knowledgeable in using data to support students and have the ability to communicate effectively with clarity and sensitivity to our school community.
