SENDCo

Full Time, Permanent

QTS

L5-9 (£49,136 – £54,239)

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative SENDCo to join our growing, dynamic and supportive school. We are looking for someone who is committed to securing high standards and raising academic attainment. Here at Horsforth School, we aim to create opportunities and support achievement for our students and colleagues alike.

We would welcome applications from qualified SENDCO’s, those who are working towards the qualification or those who be interested in obtaining the qualification.

This role is a great opportunity for a SENDCo who wants to build relationships and work with students and parents/carers of students with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure. We maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where students are listened to, respected and developed. When it comes to looking after our students, we never settle for second best.

The SENDCo will have overall responsibility for the strategic development of the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy; including oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising all students’ attainment and achievement.

For our 1500 students, Horsforth School provides an engaging environment of discovery and growth. For our colleagues too, this setting offers some great benefits. Located in north-west Leeds, the school is just five miles from the city centre with its thriving retail, leisure and cultural facilities, yet on the edge of open countryside. York, Harrogate and the Dales are within easy reach.

GCSE and A Level results are consistently well above the national averages and in 2022 the school had the best A Level results in the whole of Leeds. Horsforth School was also named one of the top schools in Yorkshire in The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide in 2022.

Closing date: 8am on Monday 17th April 2023

Start date: September 2023

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and we expect all colleagues to share this commitment. Appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
