Melton Vale Sixth Form College is a thriving post-16 mainstream college in the heart of Melton Mowbray. As we are a small and unique setting, we pride ourselves on knowing all of our students individually and creating a highly inclusive environment that allows all our of young people to flourish and be most successful.

We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher with experience of working with young people with learning needs or an aspiring SENDCo, to join our recently established Learning Development Department. The successful candidate will be required to ensure an inclusive practice is maintained and developed throughout the college, liaising with colleagues to encourage and motivate our students through accessible and inclusive teaching and learning practices to reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with students and adults alike and will have outstanding literacy and organisational skills, as well as the ability to enthuse and guide our young people at this pivotal point in their education.

The successful candidate will ideally hold a SENDCo qualification or at minimum make a commitment to complete the course within 18 months of commencing this post. This is a great time to join us, you will lead the Learning Development department, and have a vision for its development in our unique setting.

As part of our commitment to SEND, all of our SENDCos have a maximum teaching commitment of 0.4FTE and are assigned a SEND link person from our central team to act as a mentor or advisor, where required. In addition, you will be invited to our termly trust SEND network and join a group of like-minded and enthusiastic practitioners from a range of settings.
