Salcombe Preparatory School is a well-established thriving Preschool and Preparatory School for children from 3 to 11 years. The school was inspected in May 2016 and was rated outstanding in all areas. Classes are small and the school maintains high academic standards. 

We are looking for a hard working, ambitious and dynamic SENDCo to join our enthusiastic team at this forward-looking school. 

The post holder will work closely with the Head and colleagues in the strategic development of the School’s Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) policy and provision. To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEND policy and coordination of special needs activity; the aim of which is to raise SEN pupil achievement and to increase staff awareness and skills to support the child with additional needs. The post holder will be part of the school’s Senior Management Team.

This post has a reduced teaching timetable split between intervention work & some whole class teaching.

History

Founded in 1918, Salcombe is a co-educational preparatory day school for children aged between 3 and 11. The school is situated on two neighbouring sites in Southgate, North London, and is served by excellent road and rail links.

Salcombe has a long tradition of success in preparing children for selective maintained and independent schools at 11+, as well as offering considerable opportunities for social, cultural and sporting activities.

Management

Salcombe Preparatory School is run by its Headteacher and her team of senior staff, who retain the school’s unique atmosphere. The Headteacher is a member of the National Association of Head Teachers and the Independent Schools Association.
