We are keen to appoint a highly motivated and inspiring SENCO who has a passion for working with vulnerable pupils to ensure that they receive the education they deserve. 

About the role

The successful candidate will bring an innovative and creative approach to supporting the strategic direction and development of the SEN provision at Willow Park School whilst effectively managing and developing the progress and achievement of our pupils. If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a school that will welcome your ideas and re-engage our young people, we would like to hear from you.  

We are looking to welcome an outstanding, innovative and determined SENCO to be responsible for the strategic leadership development of Special Education Needs provision with the tenacity to turn ideas into reality. You should therefore have demonstrable experience in improving the quality of provision in an area you have led, in either a middle or senior leadership role, with a proven record of impact regarding SEN and success in achieving progress for disadvantaged students as well as strategic vision and commitment.

You would be an integral part of the Leadership Team, providing a high level of strategic, managerial and operational direction for the school, particularly in relation to the Quality of Education and will have the opportunity to impact significantly on the future direction and outcomes of the school. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent management, inter-personal and organisational skills with an ability to support teams in working together, showing commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity and accountability for all.  

Essential

  • You do not need to hold a SENCo Qualification, but it would be willing to undertake a SENCo qualification
  • Evidence of continuing and recent further professional development and qualifications relevant to the post
  • Being able to demonstrate good classroom and behaviour management
  • QTS

Willow Park School is a brand new 55 place SEN school for pupils with complex needs including SEMH and Autism. A co-educational provision with entry from 9 years to 16 years old. Willow Park School is an exciting addition to the Acorn portfolio based in Milton Keynes.
