Barlborough Hall School is committed to support all learners and the successful candidate will wish to bring curriculum, pastoral and extra-curricular experiences to life for our learners with Special Educational Needs. This role can either be part time or full time and subsequently may include some Teaching responsibility. The School is committed to supporting the right practitioner to undertake the National SENDCo qualification if they are not already a qualified practitioner, and, we actively encourage engaging in CPD suitable for the post.
Existing knowledge of the SEN code of practice and relevant legislation is essential, along with a commitment to inclusive classroom practice. Above all, you will be committed, enthusiastic and determined to support excellent progress for our students. This will involve actively reviewing and ensuring progress against EHCP’s, scheduling and leading on parental meetings and engaging with other external stakeholders too. A crucial part of the role is ensuring innovation with effective leadership on intervention projects as so the department contributes to outstanding practice.

Mount St Mary’s College is an HMC independent day and boarding school for boys and girls, including A-Level studies. Our Preparatory School, Barlborough Hall is a day school and includes a Nursery provision. Following our most recent ISI inspection in October 2023, it was noted 'EYFS is effectively managed and the individual needs and abilities of the children are met in all areas of development.'
We are a special community with a proud history and a bright future, located in rural Derbyshire near Sheffield and Chesterfield. We offer 250 acres of picturesque grounds and a blend of traditional and modern facilities.
The recent ISI Inspection at Mount St Mary's College found that 'pupils feel safe in school' and there is a 'culture of vigilance which promotes the safeguarding and welfare of pupils.'
We were founded by the Jesuits in 1842 and we build on our Jesuit roots by teaching our students to be grateful and to be generous. We are a school where everyone is learning because everyone is growing.
