Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join us as an SENDCo
The successful candidate will:
· Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school
· Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP’s in line with the SEND code of practice
· Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
· Oversee the looked after pupils within the school
· Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
· Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development
· Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
· Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources
· Lead on interventions that will support all pupils
· Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision.
· Attend and review PEP meetings
Our ideal candidate will have:
· Have an accredited SENDCo qualification
· Hold QTS or QTL’s
· Are passionate about education and inclusion
· Have leadership experience and qualities
· Are ready to develop their leadership skills within a school
· Can effectively manage the SEND provision in partnership with the Headteacher

At Acorns Ashely School:
I am delighted to welcome you to Acorns Ashley School. The provision is a co-educational school and provides a supportive and personalised education programme for pupils aged between 5-17. The school caters for pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour. The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental wellbeing needs.
Additionally, many of our pupils present with significant social and communication difficulties influenced by trauma or complex emotional difficulties. The school prides itself on providing specialised interventions than those provided in a mainstream school.
