We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational SENDCO to lead and further develop the school’s already outstanding provision for SEND students. This is a key post and we are looking for a professional with a proven track record of success, a positive approach and a determination to make a difference to the lives of our young people. You would be responsible for leading a dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants, taking a strategic role in developing the department in its drive for excellence and continuous improvement and inspiring and supporting all staff in enabling all students to achieve their potential across the curriculum.
The person we are seeking will:
- Be an enthusiastic and dedicated professional who has successfully completed, is in the process of completing or who is prepared to complete (within 3 years of appointment) the Masters Level National Award for SEND Coordination.
- Have knowledge and understanding of national and regional education issues relating to provision for students with additional needs, including assessment and examination access arrangements.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the 2015 SEND Code of Practice.
The successful applicant will have strategic responsibility for SEND across the school. You will bring your skills and experience to ensure that we remain at the forefront of educational thinking and that all our students make the best possible progress. Our Learning Support department and teaching staff are committed to providing high quality teaching and learning for all students and this post represents an ideal opportunity to work in a happy, friendly, positive environment.
