Following the appointment of the current holder to Headship, Mayfield is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic Deputy Head with management and boarding experience to join a forward-thinking SMT in a one of England’s foremost Catholic Schools. Taking a leading role in implementing the School’s strategic plan, she or he will deputise for the Headmistress where necessary and have specific responsibility for the boarding provision and pastoral care throughout the school, including safeguarding.  

Candidates should be practising Catholics, whose faith informs their philosophy of education, and who share a commitment to the education of girls.  Resident on site, she or he will work closely with the Headmistress and senior colleagues to realise the strategic vision of the School, including overseeing the balance between our impressive academic provision and the wider pastoral and co-curricular life of the School. The successful candidate will be expected to be involved in all aspects of Mayfield life, including teaching a reduced academic timetable. Most curriculum subjects will be considered.
