Job overview

The London Borough of Hounslow has made a pledge, to invest in education to provide a better choice of schools for local children. In the role of the Senior Education Adviser (Inclusion), you will play a key role in delivering on this pledge. Leading a range of services that contribute to school effectiveness, you will champion excellence and raise standards for all vulnerable children and young people across the borough.

This is a high profile and varied role that provides you with a chance to work with a range of stakeholders, from elected members to partners in schools and the health service as well as colleagues across the council. It is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious manager, eager to grow their leadership skills and expertise. You will join a high performing management team who will offer support and challenge to ensure the services delivered are the best they can be.

As well as leading school improvement for our special schools and SEN centres in mainstream education, you will manage the relationship between schools and the council in relation to attendance, behaviour and admission of vulnerable children. This is key role in supporting inclusion and ensuring our more vulnerable children and young people have access to the best possible educational opportunities.

More schools than ever are rated good or outstanding in Hounslow, but we are not complacent. We continue to strive for improvement and we have high expectations from each other. We also have a strong culture of collaboration and mutual support to help each other deliver.

If you care passionately about improving outcomes for children and young people, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, are highly motivated with a proven track record of achievement within an education services setting, this role is for you.

You will join a dynamic council in a diverse and exciting part of London with great transport links. We offer an attractive work-life balance through our WorkSmart scheme as well as training, childcare vouchers, staff wellbeing services, a range of benefits and discounts and much more.
