The role of Senior Education Lead (Primary)

This is an exciting time in the development of SSAT as we are working to put customers at the forefront of everything we do.

We’re looking for a Senior Education Lead (Primary) to join our education team. You will play a pivotal role at SSAT by overseeing the delivery of projects to our members, producing educational content and supporting the design and delivery of products and services to SSAT customers. You will be the lead expert in the area of Primary education and have a thorough knowledge of recent developments in theory and practice in the school system.

At the heart of the role is delivering support for school leaders, students and teachers, and the highest level of customer service standards are required at all times.

The role will suit candidates with experience of senior leadership within a primary school or academy setting, across a range of primary schools and academies and/or a business or industry setting, within an educational sector. Credibility when dealing with education professionals is vital and you will maintain an up-to-date understanding of developments in the field of teaching and learning, as well as other educational issues across the primary age range.

A passion for, as well as an understanding of supporting the breadth of needs seen through a national network of primary schools and academies is essential, as well as strong relationship building, negotiation and presentation skills.

This post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop products and services that meet the needs of primary schools and academies, working in collaboration with colleagues across SSAT and partner organisations.

Part-time, flexible working, secondments and term-time only working will all be considered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To lead the SSAT National Primary Network 
  • To lead the strategic development of SSAT’s Primary CPD and training offer
  • To deliver the annual primary business plan, ensuring that financial targets are met, and quality standards maintained and improved upon 
  • To maintain and build upon the pace of growth of both membership numbers and financial objectives
  • Be responsible for advising SSAT on national primary priorities
