Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum - Actual Take Home Pay (Pre Tax) 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday; 8.30am - 4.30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only 

West London Community College based in Uxbridge, Middlesex, within commuting distance from Hayes, Slough, Watford, Wembley, Egham, Hillingdon, and surrounding areas.

The college offers an independent living and life skills provision for adults with Autism. This is an ideal role for those interested in working within a care and educational environment seeking a new challenge.

As a Senior Education Support Worker, you will connect directly with the brilliant children and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has a diagnosis of Autism and may have additional needs. They have so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys bespoke to them.

You will lead, supervise and motivate the care team to plan, implement and undertake specific vocational activities as part of the educational programmes. To provide the highest quality of care and support to students in accordance with company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the company.

Every day will be different, but you will have all the support you need, with lots of skills and experience to draw on along with valuable advice and guidance too.

Who we are looking for

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising children as they explore further afield.

Essential experience:

  • Experience of and/or qualifications in the specialist area
  • Experience of work with autism spectrum disorders and/or challenging behaviour            
  • Experience at management level            
  • Experience of supervising and appraising staff 

Qualifications and Training                        

  • Level 3 Award in Education & Teaching OR Equivalent (desirable)
  • Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required                   
  • Undertake relevant group induction training or commencement
