Job overview

We are looking for an experienced person to join our school Estates team. Someone who will directly support the Estates & Operations Manager with the organising and managing of the planned and preventative maintenance program and to also support the day-to-day facilities management of the school. 

If you offer experience of working at a school and possess good DIY skills, this position offers an exciting opportunity to learn new skills, receive training and play a key role supporting the security and maintenance of one of London’s top day schools.

You will join our friendly and supportive Estates team and contribute to the smooth day to day operation of the school. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensuring the security of buildings 
  • Regular maintenance of systems such as heating, cooling and lighting 
  • Supervising contractors, such as cleaners and grounds people 
  • Undertaking general porterage duties 
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the swimming pool 
  • Health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings

We will provide full Health and Safety training and are able to support you with apprenticeships and facilities management training.

To be considered for this role you will need similar premises or building management experience.

A trade qualification i.e. plumber, electrician, carpentry, decorator, would be advantageous.   

The school has been the beneficiary of significant investment over the past few years, and we now have exciting new facilities to manage. We have taken ownership of a brand new Sixth Form Centre and Auditorium this academic year - in addition to the new STEAM Tower, which was completed September 2020, and our new dining facilities, completed February 2021.
