Senior Full Stack Developer
Build what matters. Shape what comes next.
The Aurora Group is undertaking a major programme of operational improvement to understand how our services operate today and to design simpler, more consistent and future‑ready ways of working, supported by emerging technology such as AI.
To facilitate this; we're building the technology that will power the next generation of education and care, and we need a Senior Full Stack Developer to help lead the way.
This is not a maintenance role. It is about designing, building and scaling modern applications that make a real difference to how we operate and support our employees and our learners.
The role
Working across our technology teams, you will take ownership of full stack development from concept through to deployment.
You will design and build high-quality applications, shape technical decisions and ensure everything we create is secure, scalable and built to last.
Alongside this, you will play a key role in strengthening our engineering capability by supporting and mentoring others.
What you will focus on
Designing and building modern full stack applications
Developing robust APIs, services and data models
Embedding quality through testing, code standards and CI/CD pipelines
Ensuring performance, security and scalability from day one
Leading technical decisions and influencing architecture
Monitoring live systems and driving continuous improvement
Supporting and developing other engineers
What we are looking for
You will be an experienced developer with a strong track record of delivering production systems and solving complex technical challenges.
You will bring:
Strong experience across frontend and backend development
Expertise in modern architectures, APIs and cloud platforms
A focus on clean code, performance and security
Experience building scalable, reliable systems
Confidence leading technical decisions and mentoring others
A practical, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Why Aurora

We are now investing heavily in technology, data and AI to become a true sector leader.
What you can expect:
Meaningful work with real impact
The chance to shape systems at scale
A collaborative, values-led culture
Home-based role with flexibility and autonomy
Opportunity to influence the future of our technology landscape
Interested?
If you want to build modern, scalable systems with purpose and influence the future of a growing organisation, we would love to hear from you.
