About this position

The academy's HR team supports approximately 120 staff (both teaching and support staff) and delivers a range of HR services covering the employee life cycle from recruitment, induction, L&D, performance management and employee relations through to compensation, benefits and pensions. You will be working with some of the best teachers in the country who in turn are developing the next generation of teaching talent in inner London.

About You

We are currently seeking to appoint an outstanding Senior HR Advisor, one who has solid generalist HR experience, ideally gained in a school environment, however we will consider candidates from outside the sector.

Proactive and productive, you will be extremely well organised and able to manage a varied workload and competing deadlines on a daily basis. You will demonstrate a genuine interest in people and have the ability to build rapport and gain trust at all levels of the academy.  Calm, discreet and diplomatic, you will respect confidentiality in all matters and give honest feedback, whilst being warm, friendly and approachable.

You will provide insightful, pragmatic advice to senior managers as well as guidance and support on a whole range of people issues, acting as a coach to help our managers to deliver. You will have existing experience of professionally handling an ER caseload.

You must have plenty of recruitment experience and demonstrate new ideas for hiring first class talent. You must be flexible enough to hire a wide range of staff with differing levels of experience - whether that's a Maths teacher or Reception staff. You will be adept at writing engaging adverts, using external agencies effectively or networking on Linked In to find the best candidates.

Previous experience of preparing for monthly payroll, working with an external provider is preferred.  You may also be familiar with pension administration and annual census reports.

Your written English must be exceptional.  You will be able to draft new policies, all-staff emails, formal correspondence and HR marketing collateral with fluency and flair.

You should hold a CIPD qualification (at least level 5) and will be committed to continuous professional development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced HR Advisors to take the next step or an established Senior HR Advisor seeking to cement their experience.
