The Halifax Academy is looking for an experienced Senior ICT Technician to join our growing Multi Academy Trust. With more schools joining Impact Education MAT over the next 12 months, this post offers an opportunity to shape how our services are delivered within the MAT and to be directly involved in the design and deployment of our IT infrastructure.

We are looking for a career focused and driven individual with aspirations for IT leadership positions in the medium term in a growing team.

Providing line management to two ICT Technicians, the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the ICT function in a hands-on capacity, ensuring an effective teaching & learning environment for approximately 1200 staff & students at The Halifax Academy while also collaborating, advising and supporting within the wider Trust.

The suitable candidate will have experience with:

  • Mentoring & team leadership
  • Infrastructure & service design and deployment
  • Windows 7-10
  • Server 2012 - 2019
  • Image deployment with SCCM/MDT or similar
  • Hardware diagnosis
  • Problem/issue resolution & documentation
  • Helpdesk tools & effective prioritisation
  • Office365 / Exchange
  • Networking topologies / firewall policy administration
  • Active Directory / DHCP / DNS within a Windows Server infrastructure


Previous experience in a school environment would be desirable.

The Halifax Academy is a high performing 4-16 all-through Academy in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. It was inspected by Ofsted in September 2017 being judged as good in all areas. Outcomes are outstanding at KS4 and place the academy in the top 15% of all schools nationally with regard to progress. Early Years Provision is good.
