SENIOR ICT TECHNICIAN

Grade G6 - £20,924 - £24,174 pro rata

37 hours per week (term time + 4 weeks)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced ICT technician to join our ICT Team and support and deputise for the Systems Manager in providing effective ICT provision within our school environment. 

The main responsibilities involve providing technical support to guarantee the smooth running and security of all ICT systems for the staff and pupils in school. The main duties will include:-

· assisting in the support and development of the ICT infrastructure,

· installation of hardware and software, 

· maintaining the security of the school’s network systems, 

· scheduling upgrades and security backups, 

· set up and maintenance of AV equipment, 

· maintaining a stock of ICT supplies,

· line manager to the Creative Media and Digital Marketing Officer

· providing advice and support to users.

The successful candidate will have an ICT related NVQ qualification at level 3 and experience of working with large ICT networks and networking protocols. You should be competent in the use of a variety of ICT software, have excellent communication skills, an ability to use your initiative to respond to and resolve problems and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.

Golborne High School, a co-educational secondary school of around 1,200 pupils, is located near to Wigan, Greater Manchester. Providing places for pupils aged 11-16, Golborne High is a foundation cooperative trust school, forming a key part of the GoalCo Trust, a network of schools and colleges situated in and around Wigan.

The GoalCo cooperative was established in 2010, but the secondary school itself first opened its doors in 1954.
