About the role

The Senior IT Technician is part of the UK IT team of the Nord Anglia Education Group, maintaining IT services at Oxford International College Brighton, and providing support to staff. They work in collaboration with the Head of IT for UK schools at Nord Anglia Education and its team.

The role is to ensure a good quality education in and outside the classroom, to maintain a high level of services and to support the school’s staff and students and maintain the schools IT services as well as making suggestions and implementing new systems to improve the schools IT provision.


Key Responsibilities

IT support duties

  • Supervise the IT Service desk 
  • Manage the daily Operation of IT and leading the IT implementation for any future expansion/projects
  • 3rd level of support in coordination with the Head of IT, UK
  • Student and staff devices support and maintenance
  • Provide support for teaching staff and students in and outside the classrooms


Systems Administration

  • Administration of the Schools Management Information System (iSAMS)
  • Administration of users (Active Directory / Azure Active Directory)
  • Administration of mailboxes (Microsoft 365)
  • Administration of devices
  • Administration of other school software


Hardware management

  • Deployment of school devices (phones, computers, etc)
  • Inventory and maintenance of school devices and hardware
  • Maintenance of network equipment in coordination with the Head of IT, UK
  • Ensuring school printers are well maintained and that staff and students are able to use effectively


Events

  • Provide support for various school events


                      

About you

Essential criteria

  • BSc or Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
  • Has obtained one of the following certifications : CISCO (any certification/course), CompTIA or other industry relevant certifications
  • Take critical decisions regarding system changes or troubleshooting
  • Understanding of the network and IT systems operation
  • Understanding of basic budget allocations
  • Assist in the attitude & skills training of the IT helpdesk team to ensure that it grows in line with our ethos: Engage – listen – advise – resolve
  • Min. 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Well organized, able to respect priorities, planning and deadlines
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
