Senior IT Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Technician to play a key role in the IT support team at our leading independent day school in the heart of Oxford.

As the IT Technician, you will maintain the School’s IT systems and assist with installing new and upgraded IT systems to ensure their integrity. The role will also involve providing technical advice to colleagues, working to ensure IT issues are resolved and developing procedures to ensure the smooth running of IT systems.

Our network is based on Windows 10 PCs with MS Server 2012 servers with MS Office 2016 Professional, O365, GAFE and subject related software. Oxford High School has 500 Windows PCs, 300 iPads, 200 Chromebooks and other mobile devices. As a school we are keen to invest in the technologies that make the most difference in the classroom and are not tied to any particular solution.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience of delivering customer focused IT services and be able to demonstrate experience of using and supporting at least some of the following:

• Windows operating system and update deployment using SCCM
• Microsoft active directory and group policy
• Hyper-V virtual servers
• Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems
• Windows, iOS and macOS devices
• Enterprise wireless and VOIP systems
• Office 365 and G Suite software
• Enterprise anti-virus and endpoint protection
• Data backup and recovery systems
• Print management and accounting systems (e.g. Papercut)
