The Academy of St Francis of Assisi is a good School as graded by Ofsted in 2019.

Applications are invited for an ambitious Senior Leader of English.

As the Senior Leader of English, you will focus in the first instance on improving outcomes in English and driving the development of reading across the Academy. You will also have the opportunity to work with a committed and very positive team within the English department, and an opportunity to be part of a team developing the Whole Academy strategy for Teaching and Learning.  The immediate focus will be on achieving a rapid improvement in student achievement and progress, whilst developing a longer term plan for the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum. We are looking for an ambitious leader who over time will work directly with the Senior Leadership team to influence academy wide strategy.

• A passion for English teaching

• Experience of supporting change and development within a department

• A passion to continue to develop the curriculum to inspire, challenge and motivate all students.

• Impact on improving outcomes for a wide range of students

The Academy of St Francis of Assisi is an 11 – 16 Academy with900 students on role.  It is a joint foundation of the Anglican and Catholic Dioceses of Liverpool and is situated in the grounds of Newsham Park in Kensington, Liverpool.
