The School of Education and Social Work is one of the largest providers of teacher education in the country and has a long-standing reputation for producing outstanding teachers.

We have the following vacancies:

  • Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Primary Education: Creative Arts (Specialism in visual arts) and Professional Studies.
  • Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Primary Education: Physical Education and Professional Studies

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Primary practitioners to work as part of the team delivering on Undergraduate and Postgraduate Initial Teacher Training programmes. In addition, there are opportunities to contribute to a range of Undergraduate degrees, Masters programmes and Research and Enterprise.

The successful candidate will have a successful track record in primary schools. In addition, experience of working with trainee teachers – in a Higher Education/SCITT setting and/or working as a mentor with trainee teachers in schools would be an advantage, as would experience of developing and delivering professional development within school, Local Authority and/or Higher Education settings. A first degree is required. QTS is essential and a higher degree preferred.
