We are looking for a talented and experienced marketer join us as a Senior Marketing Manager in the Primary team within the Schools sector of the English product group. The successful candidate will create, lead and continuously review a range of integrated marketing campaigns that align with the Primary marketing plan, meet objectives and are critical to overall business revenues.

About the role

The Primary marketing team's focus is on learning and assessment propositions tailored to the needs of preschool and primary teachers and learners of English. We support them with market-leading products and services, including professional development solutions for teachers. 

In this role, the post-holder will:

  • build a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics in the Primary sector
  • lead the development of attention-grabbing and customer-focused value propositions and messaging
  • lead project teams to develop and execute integrated campaigns based on commercial objectives, market and customer needs, and develop KPIs that articulate marketing impact and ROMI
  • mentor and coach colleagues to develop their marketing expertise, and build capabilities within the Primary and wider Schools marketing team
  • contribute to the development of an inbound strategy that will further support business growth

About you

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of marketing principles and experience in creating, delivering and reviewing integrated marketing campaigns aligned with business objectives. They should be able to build a deep understanding of customer needs, market challenges, opportunities, and competitor activities in the Primary sector to inform the development of plans and campaigns that successfully engage target audiences and meet objectives.

The candidate should have excellent communication, and analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team. The role will work closely with Marketing Managers and the Marketing Executive in delivering sales enablement tools and integrated campaigns and providing mentorship and guidance. We are looking for a marketing expert to be the key point of contact within the sector for relevant Propositions and Commercial colleagues, working together to position and deliver propositions and insights-driven marketing campaigns that respond to customer needs and capitalise on Cambridge's unique strengths. 

Additionally, the ideal candidate should be able to manage relationships with internal teams and external agencies to ensure campaigns and tactics are delivered on brand, on brief and on time, and that they demonstrate a return on marketing investment (ROMI), with a test and learn approach to innovation. Finally, they should have a passion for English language education, a strong desire to make a positive impact and be committed to helping learners, teachers and school leaders achieve their ambitions.
