Job overview

Ref No 1510

The Harris Federation is a dynamic, successful and growing group of Academies and a not-for-profit charity with almost twenty five years’ experience of education in and around London. We have built our reputation on a family of Academies that, across the board, are setting standards of excellence and fulfilling high expectations. We are a Federation rather than a chain, where each school is led autonomously and has its own unique character and ethos.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join the central Infrastructure Team, providing the highest possible level of ICT support for our Primary, Secondary, 6th Form staff and students and Central Federation staff. This role reports to the Head of Infrastructure Services and will work closely with multiple ICT Service Managers and the onsite Academy ICT Technicians.

We need someone with a proven track record who can effectively design, manage and support the entire infrastructure across the group including Academies and Data Centres. You will support Group ICT in providing an excellent IT Service in line with ITIL principles to our customers. We need to ensure the Infrastructure is stable, secure and resilient, by providing Technical Design Authority services to all projects. This role is very much hands on and the successful candidate will need a broad knowledge and understanding of systems, of which HarrisNet is based on.

Along with the other members of the Infrastructure team (3rd line) this roles has responsibility for the design, support, operational management, monitoring and maintenance of all ICT systems and infrastructure across the Harris Federation.

Previous experience in education or a school environment would be highly advantageous, but is not essential and all applications will be considered.

For full responsibilities, please apply to download the Candidate Information Pack.

The Harris Federation is a not-for-profit educational charity with almost 25 years of education experience in and around London. Our primary, secondary, all-through and sixth form academies have an international reputation for delivering a step change in education standards.

In joining a Harris Academy, you will be working with some of the country’s most exceptional teachers, support staff and leaders. There are frequent opportunities for internal exchange and promotion; our CPD is regularly described as Outstanding; and we have a package of staff benefits that rivals the most competitive of other professions.

Each Harris Academy is led and run by its senior leaders and has its own curriculum and way of doing things. What our Academies share, however, is a commitment to giving their children and teenagers an excellent education within a happy, caring and supportive environment.

There are Harris Academies in many different settings – inner city and suburban – but they are all within a maximum ninety minute commute from each other. This enables a highly collaborative structure, with on-call support from the Harris Federation.

You can find out more on our website (www.harrisfederation.org.uk) or by following us on Twitter (@HarrisFed).
