We are seeking to appoint a Senior Physics Technician who will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the technical support to a busy and thriving Physics Department, together with other support duties within the Department. As part of our technical support team you will line manage a Physics Technician, work with the Head of Physics and Physics Team whilst being line managed by the Team Leader Technician and the Head of Science. Relevant experience in this, or an equivalent position not necessarily in a school context, would be welcome. Ideally you would be able to take up the post by the end of April 2021.

In return we offer a generous salary and benefits package including a money purchase pension scheme (plus Life Assurance Cover), Employee Discount Club, discounted school fees for the Foundation Schools, discounted off-peak membership at our on-site gym (Nuffield Health), membership of a healthcare plan, a range of family-friendly benefits and season ticket loan.

Applications will be reviewed daily and interviews may occur at any stage after applications are received.  We therefore invite interested candidates to apply as soon as possible.

Due to the current uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the school may amend the closing date. Flexibility regarding the interview may also be required to ensure the health and welfare of our school community.

Whitgift School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Services.
