Senior Progress Tutor

At Huddersfield New College, we strive to ensure that every student receives an outstanding quality of education, one which enables them to progress successfully from the College to the university, employers or apprenticeships of their choice.

As a Senior Progress Tutor you will line manage a small team of progress tutors and you will support the induction of new progress tutors to ensure they can effectively monitor attendance, punctuality and commitment to study of their tutees.  You will also be responsible for the quality assurance of pastoral curriculum delivery, Behaviour for Learning intervention and student support for allocated progress tutors through regular KIT meetings and monitoring of intervention.  You will liaise with appropriate staff in order to monitor attendance, academic progress, destinations, behaviour / attitude and personal development, implementing intervention where necessary.

You will deliver tutorials designed to support personal development, make phone calls to parents / carers and complete the UCAS process with the students that wish to progress to university, whilst supporting applications to apprenticeships and employment for other students.

It is therefore vital that you are confidently articulate in both spoken and written communication.
