Senior School Mathematics Teacher (with possible Head of Department position)

To join our team we are looking for a well-qualified and talented Senior School Mathematics Teacher who has a passion for the teaching and learning of Mathematics. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to make the subject come alive with inspirational and interactive lessons which challenge and support all pupils to secure the best possible outcomes. Training and experience of teaching IB Diploma Programme Mathematics courses, whilst not essential, will be regarded positively.    

There is a possibility that the Head of Department position will be available to applicants with suitable experience, skill and vision. 

All staff at ParK IS are actively involved in the pastoral life of school. The role will also offer the opportunity for contribution to co-curricular clubs and enrichment.

Job Description

Position: Senior School Mathematics Teacher

Reports to: Head of Mathematics Department

Responsible for all teaching and learning that happens in his classroom and in any support time in order to guide and inspire students to be happy and successful in their adult lives.

Main Responsibilities:

Respects and implements PaRK IS’ mission and values

Teaches his subject of expertise

Carefully prepares each class with varied resources in line with the curriculum syllabus

Knows the curriculum goals and keeps up with all the possible changes

Researches what is at the frontline in the education field

Invests time in his/her professional training 

Ensures that all the students needs are met according to different levels of learning, taking into account students who are second language learners or have learning disabilities

Reflects on his/her work and always tries to improve in order to bring the best of every student

Assess in order to improve learning and maintain motivation level to its best

Expects high standards of behavior and applies them consistently

Follows the school marking policy and keeps a complete and accurate record of each student performance

Fulfills study plans and programs

Complies with the School rules

Complies with the dress code

Allows the development of transdisciplinary skills

Carry out any assigned duties

Liaise with any other staff member in order to work collaborative

Actively participates in or support the school extracurricular life

Has team spirit and contributes to the good atmosphere of the school

Skills Profile:

Appropriate degree for the specific subject area, namely qualifications for international education

Relevant professional experience in education (international teaching experience is valued)

Good English skills

Appropriate computer skills to the proper performance of their duties
