To work across both our Roade and Deanshanger sites

Grade H, points 14 - 21 (actual salary: £19151 pa to £21998pa) 

35 hours a week, 40 weeks a year (Hours of work 8am – 3.30pm (30 minutes lunch break)

We are looking for a Senior Science Technician with at least 4 years’ or demonstrable relevant experience of working as a Senior Science Technician in a secondary school, to work within our Science Faculty.    You will work across all science disciplines for all key stages.   Responsible to the Head of Science, you will ensure the technical team is resourced, organised and developed to meet the performance standards required by the department.

Closing date: 14 May 2021 

The role involves managing the Science Technicians and promoting working as a team to drive forward practical teaching, whilst keeping up to date with current procedures and practices.  You will have overall responsibility for promoting a healthy and safe working environment in addition to preparing resources for practical’s within the classrooms, maintaining stock levels of all resources, A-level practical preparation and attending science department meetings to raise technical issues. 

The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a friendly approach to students and staff.

• Organised and calm in a busy environment

• Have to meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.  As travel is required between sites, you must have access to a reliable means of transport in order to carry out your duties.  Development opportunities will be offered.  All staff are encouraged to study further and the trust will actively support staff to obtain relevant further qualifications where possible.
