Park Academy West London is looking to appoint an exceptional individual to play an important role in our growing Academy. 

We are seeking an experienced science technician to manage the science technical team to support the teaching of all aspects of the Science curriculum at all key stages.   This will include identifying, in liaison with the technical team and teaching staff, the technical support needs generated by the curriculum, in particular curriculum change; the organisation of the technical team to set up and operate the systems to meet the needs of science teaching; organise and maintain well equipped laboratories and undertake equipment checks in all laboratories on a regular basis to ensure that all laboratories have required levels of equipment at all times.  

Applicants should have experience of carrying out health and safety checks on any radioactive sources and storage areas; carrying out tests on equipment within the science department; carrying out risk assessments for practical experiments and technician working procedures including the use and storage of hazardous materials; Implementation of the COSHH guidelines; have a good standard of education including GCSE in English and Maths; strong IT skills; excellent interpersonal skills (in order to relate to and engage with people at all levels including students, parents, teachers and support staff.

Park Academy West London is a new school for a new age, an 11-19 academy, based in Hillingdon Middlesex who joined Aspirations Academies Trust, from 1st September 2017.

Park Academy West London has a close working relationship with the Aspiration Academies Trust’s other academies in London. These are Rivers Academy West London, which was judged ‘Good’ in its recent Ofsted report, Space Studio West London, which specialises in space, aerospace, science and maths and, in the primary sector, Oriel Academy and Oak Hill Academy.
