Baltimore Consulting are delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with Stockport Metropolitan Council to appoint a Secondary School Improvement Lead Adviser. 

Stockport have been able to build a strong reputation for collaborative working and inclusive practice, they pride themselves on their ability to promote a caring ethos with strong community links across Education. The council currently do not have a designated post holder to cover their secondary schools across Stockport therefore are now looking for a strong leader to emulate the success of the primary teams relationships within Stockport and drive improvement with a high level of gravitas. 

As the sole Secondary Adviser, you will play a pivotal role in leading high-quality led practice and championing the Stockport vision to promote stronger partnerships between that of the council, schools and parental groups. 

Candidates Duties and Person Specification - 

• You will work with approx. 14 schools within Stockport across Key stage 3 & 4 (of which there is approx. 3 Special Schools and 3 Academy Chains) alongside 3 Pupil Referral Units. 

• As School Improvement adviser for Secondary, you must hold exemplary knowledge of Key Stage 3 & 4 Curriculum and OFSTED Framework in respect of the School Improvement Agenda

• Successful applicant must be solutions focused, you need to be able to provide guidance with a high level of credibility and forward thinking to ensure that the collaborative ethos of Stockport remains whilst driving improvement

• The ability to self-manage is a critical attribute required for this role, as the sole and lead adviser for Secondary, it is imperative that you create challenge to ensure consistent improvement and  have the ability to fact find from information and data provided in order to create a framework for secondary improvement.

• You will have worked as a Head teacher or very senior level within school setting (this must be from secondary school background)

Role Title - Senior Secondary School Improvement Adviser

Salary and Benefits - Soulbury 29- 33:  £70,777- £74,311 annum plus standard council benefits package (Holiday allowance and Pension Contributions TBC) 

The post provides an opportunity for anyone who has worked as a senior leader within high schools, particularly at KS3 and 4 to take the next step in their career and be part of the future for shaping and developing provision for children and young people across Education in Stockport. The successful candidate will work with all our high schools both to identify good practice and support them in the delivery of the highest standard of education for all children.   

Initial competency interviews will be held in December on the proviso that successful candidates will then be shortlisted for a formal interview with the council in January, starting the role formally in April.
