About the position

We are looking for a Senior Team Leader (Secondary Teacher) to commence with us at the start of Term 1, 2022. This will be a key role for the AITC as you will be part of the founding cohort of teachers at our newest campus, located in Spring Hill, close to public transport and parking. We are seeking to hire a senior teacher, with generalist capability to teach across multiple subject areas, along with strong mentoring and curriculum skills.

The role will focus on delivering generalist Yr. 10 curriculum such as English (ACARA), Maths (ACARA), Digital Technology, History, Science and HPE to our foundational Year 10 cohort.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Delivering an engaging and industry contextualised senior secondary program that provides successful outcomes for young people, ensuring all assessment and compliance tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Facilitating employability and work readiness workshops, and developing young people’s character and ‘whole ‘self.
  • Contributing and collaborating with your campus and wider AITC community to plan design, develop, and deliver a quality and engaging industry education experience.
  • Enhancing the wellbeing and holistic growth of young people through the development of supportive learning environments, quality communication, and effective classroom management.
  • Creating positive and proactive relationships with young people, parents, and employees that leads to a supportive and positive College community
  • Leading the curriculum and mentoring junior Team Leader's

Skills and experience

You are a skilled educator with 8+ years of teaching experience, who has the ability to develop and mentor young people to succeed in an industry-driven environment.  

You will:

Required qualifications:

  • A Bachelor degree or higher.
  • Current QCT Registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • Ability to embody the AITC values 
  • Right to Work in Australia.
