Job overview

We are looking for a proactive School Senior Site Manager at our secondary school in Balsall Common.

The successful candidate is expected:

·        To be responsible for providing an efficient and effective site support service to the Academy; ensuring that the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards.

·        To be responsible for ensuring all statutory testing is undertaken, monitored and any concerns are reported.

·        To be responsible for managing other site staff including the allocation and monitoring of work.

·        To comply at all times with the requirements of Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Academy’s Health & Safety policy statement.

About you:

  • Experience with Fire and Safety, Maintenance and Cleaning, General Estates and Lettings/whole Academy Functions.
  • Someone who holds the iOSH qualification or equivalent would be ideal.
  • Experience of Health and Safety in a previous role.

Located in Balsall Common, a village in the West Midlands, Heart of England School is a co-educational secondary academy. The school has around 1300 pupilss, 250 of whom reside in the school sixth form, making it larger than the average secondary school. The vast majority of teaching takes place on-site, but the school does make use of a limited amount of off-site provision for students with certain educational needs. Heart of England School converted to academy status in 2011, but the school is not part of any wider academy group.
